For many creators this is the biggest question, How do I get people to see it? Of course your mom and dad will look at and maybe even some of your friends but how do you get REAL traffic. Well it doesn't happen overnight and it takes some work but after trying several tricks, you can be on the way to internet stardom. My credentials. You may think this nobody blog writer has no experience with internet stardom but in a small way I am not a nobody on the internet. With a Youtube Network of over 10 channels comprising over 3.5 million views and also a blog with over 4.6k views and 1.7k views on SoundCloud and most of that has been in the last year or two. So how did I get to this point and how am I working to get more viewers. Connections The internet is about connections. In fact the definition of it is "a global system of interconnected networks" by Google. This is the easiest way to drive audiences to your content. Now why is this. Because by connecting your project and accounts to one another, you are able to combine the audiences from all of your projects so that they will continue to come back for more. It's kind of like free advertising. (Advertising is a way to do this but there are free ways but they are harder) For example if I post a song I wrote on this blog like here.... I would be attempting to convert viewers of my blog page into listeners of my music. This kind of is like double each view I get and it also pulls them into my content more. Each time they see, hear or read something they like of mine, they look for more of my stuff and they continue to view. These people become VERY valuable and are what you would call a FAN. Making connections between your content is also a very very easy way to drive traffic. It's free and you just have to post some links to things like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube Descriptions. All of these are perfect places to put connections.
You give something, You get Something One thing about the internet is that you have to give people something in order for them to care. For example, there are thousands of Free short films. It would take years to watch all of them, but people who create things like tutorials like Film Riot often get bundles of views on their short films. This is in part to the fact that they successfully made a connection from their tutorial work to their short films (see past section) but it is also because they gave their viewers so much that the viewers almost feel responsible to watch their short films. Also giving out things doesn't mean you have to make new content. One thing I do to attempt to create more viewers of my content is to release a free soundtrack with Creative Commons Songs, this makes people attract to the soundtrack and then in turn my movie. Use you Family and Friends Post things you make on Facebook and Twitter to increase views and hopefully thus gaining some credibility but this is kind of an obvious step. So that's just three things that you can use to drive traffic and hopefully become a huge internet star. What tricks do you use to generate internet traffic?
