With the Christmas Season over and everyone with their new Christmas gear, it's time to do something with it so I'm going to review some of the stuff I got.
After acquiring the Konova slider I quickly realized there was no way to change the 3/8" screw that prohibited me from mounting my camera. I then went over to B&H and bought myself a adapter and decided now was a good time to get myself a new tripod head since my old one was broken. The Ph-386 seemed to be one of the cheapest fluid heads and so far it's been amazing. I don't have much else to say about it other than it's quite smooth and that unfortunately I need to remove the quick release to change batteries on my 600D. The Slider preforms great. Any problems I have with it aren't due to the slider but other factors like rocking on carpet and such. I also got the crank for the slider. At first the difference felt negligible, however replaying the shots showed some improvement over not using it. The crank seemed to work best in very slow movements. Pan and Tilts with the tripod head thou are not possible and even a focus pull is quite difficult. After using my new gear for a while I learned that no magic gear was going to come and make my videos perfect but it took some practices to stabilize your hands and get the perfect shot, the konova slider just makes that learning curve quicker than most.
