*Purely Opinions* The 600D is my main camera. It has been for about a year. I have to say, I like the images that come out of it but some things seem like a pain. Audio is one of these. The camera however recieves many benifits from the Magic Lantern hack, however the Raw function is useless. The audio problems start with the misconception that an audio input means that it can record audio good. I mean the T3i can record audio good when the meters are right and everything, but often times that required a lot of attention to get right and without a full crew, that is unlikely to happen. I wish it would have an audio in jack, but you can use a round about way to monitor audio bellow but it's not accurate because it goes through an amp.Ontop of this, my mic input seems to have broke so it looks like I'm going two audio systems and syncing in post with FCPX. To capture a good image, you need a nice lens, not a nice camera. However this took awhile for me to understand. The kit lens often leaves much to be desired in image quality. It's sharp but it doesn't do well inside. So expsect to buy another lens shortly afterwards if you don't have one. Eventhough it may look like I'm bashing this camera, I really like. The image is great. If your okay with all of the negatives, it can be a great camera for short films or even documentaries. If your looking to upgrade to this camera, however it may be good to check out some other cameras. The T2i is much cheaper and all you sacrifice is a swivel screen. Another option I'm thinking about is the Sony VG-20 because it has audio monitor and 1080p60, and the preused price isn't too bad. So all in all. Not too shaby. 7/10 other thoughts - I think it looks pretty. If you get it, I reccomend a 35mm lens over a 50mm b/c of the crop factor. Also reccomend using Magic Lantern and Cinestyle Profile.
